Writing and recording will begin on Monday for a new Christmas album. No timetable on whether it will be released this year or next.

What I would like from all of you is what Christmas songs you like the most (kids' songs, Christmas Carols, etc). E-mail me at dhughes@donhughesmusic.com with your Top 3, Top 5, however many you like. The most popular ones will be on the album!

Harry Walter (1945-2009) passed away in his home Monday May 4th. Harry was our bass player when I played with Generation Gap. He taught me so much when it came to playing blues, playing gigs, and he had plenty of stories to keep anyone's attention for a long time. Harry, you touched so many musician's lives. You will be missed.

I've just found out. Saturday morning on February 21st, Eric Vincent "Fat Vinny" Kelly passed away at his home due to a massive heart attack. Vinny was the first guy that I recorded with. He was only 42 years old.

Vinny, thank you for giving me the opportunity to write and record music. I hope that I can extend that opportunity to young musicians that you did to me.

I have recently been collaborating with Pittsburgh filmmaker Charlie Godart and his upcoming movie, "Charlie Godart, The Unauthorized Autobiography." I will post more news as it happens, and hopefully a video of one of his skits with my music in it.

Hey everyone. Sorry for the lack of updates. I've put up a pic my girlfriend Liz took of me at the radio interview back in August.

I have just moved into the Pittsburgh area with my girlfriend who is going to schol here. I am excited for what the future holds for us!

I will be interviewed by PA Musician columnist and WBXQ 94.3 DJ Jim Price on the Backyard Rocker radio program from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. My music will be featured throughout the two hour program as well as a LIVE interview.
